Are hot air balloon rides safe?
Hot air balloons are among the safest forms of transport. Flights are operated by professional pilots with all required permits and meteorological knowledge. The balloons are regularly inspected to ensure safety.
How high does a hot air balloon go?
In Belgium, the maximum height is 1.5 km, with typical flights ranging between 500 and 700 metres.
What about fear of heights?
It’s been shown that fear of heights is unlikely in a hot air balloon because there is no direct connection to the ground, unlike standing on a ladder or balcony.
When will I know if the flight is going ahead?
For evening flights, you’ll be contacted between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. on the day of the flight. For morning flights, you’ll receive a call the evening before.
